As you can see from my previous post, Edith was feeling a bit under the weather for her birthday. It started on Friday and I was so hopeful that she would be feeling better by Saturday. Unfortunately she was feeling worse. It was the perfect storm of teeth, shots from Thursday, a little cold and this fever/rash thing. And she typically doesn't like large groups anyways, but she was a trooper and made it through the day, mostly inside.
While she was hanging out inside or sitting on someone's lap (she barely walked for like 3 days), everyone else was battling the heat outside. The kids had a great time playing on the playset, playing at the water table and running through the sprinkler. They also enjoyed the cookies and birthday cupcakes.
Edith was not impressed at all with the birthday cake. She wanted no part in eating her cupcake. We tried giving it to her a while later inside with just a couple of people around and she finally enjoyed some frosting, but she still has yet to actually eat some cake! She did ok opening presents and received many fun toys, books and some adorable outfits.
Thank you all who celebrated her big day with us! Now that Edith is feeling better, she is sure enjoying her new toys. Of course big brother Eddie had a lot of fun breaking them in for her :-)
