While we were on vacation, we celebrated my mom's birthday. The owner of the cabin left this yummy cake in the fridge, so we had some the first few days we were there (her birthday wasn't until Friday).
The second day there, started off a little cool. We mainly stayed around the cabin since we were in the car so much. First my mom and I played with the kids while the guys went fishing.
The rocks outside provided so much entertainment all week! Eddie liked the big rocks and called them his train.

Uncas and I took a little boat ride while the kids were in napping in the afternoon.

Uncas insisted that I learn how to drive his boat. It went much better then the time he tried to get me to learn how to steer a canoe!
The kids woke up pretty early from a nap, so we decided for all of us to go out on the boat. Edith wasn't too happy with the life jacket.
She had this expression on her face the whole time!!!
We made a stop at a bar for a drink. The kids had a blast playing around. Uncas and I played a game of darts and then back to the boat we went!

After the boat ride we went down to the little beach. It was still a little cool, so we didn't go swimming, but just played in the sand.
The next day my mom and I took the kids to Mercer in the morning. They had, what we thought was a little train depot. It was ok. Eddie promptly asked the worker "where is the engine?" They only had a caboose. He liked checking that out.

When we got back, we discovered that Grandpa Ron and Uncas caught a turtle! Edith loved him and Eddie named him "Clowny". After the kids got a look at him, they released him back into the lake.
That night we had a campfire. Eddie helped set up the fire and helped Daddy light it using a sparkler.
