We were lucky to have so much family come in town for his party - both sets of grandparents, Eddie's Aunt Jeanna, Uncle Derek and cousins Saffron, Sebastian and Anna. One of the most memorable moments of the day was trying to capture a picture of all the cousins on the couch. Surprisingly, everyone was sitting nice and still (including 2 month old Sebastian) except Mr. Eddie! He was standing, crawling over Anna and Saffron, taking off the party hats, laughing - it was the funniest thing!
In addition to family, we had several close friends come over and help celebrate. I counted yesterday and at one point we had 24 people in our tiny house! All the little kids did a great job of watching while Eddie was opening his presents and then Uncas came up with the brilliant idea to have them all help with the last gift (it was a big one). They all had a blast digging in and tearing off the paper. It was a water table in a big box, so then everyone started climbing and dancing on it - it was sooo cute!
Of course Eddie enjoyed eating his cupcake. We had given him a third of a cupcake on his actual birthday which he loved, so he knew exactly what to do with the one on Saturday. This time it was chocolate with blue frosting, so he was a bit messier.
It was a very fun day and Eddie received lots of fun new toys. Then on Sunday we went to his friend Ashley's house to celebrate her first birthday! That party was a lot less work for Uncas and I :-)
The pictures here are from my mother-in-law and mom's camera's because I am too tired to download the ones from mine!
