Fishing and Ice Cream

While we had bought a fishing pole for Eddie for the fishing tournament, we never actually got around to taking it out of the package and letting him use it.  This past Sunday the weather was great and when Eddie got up, he asked to go fishing.  Uncas said sure, knowing that we had already decided that we would go in the afternoon.  We picked Centennial Lakes which is basically a man-made pond that is stocked with some fish.  There is a lot to see and do there, so I knew that Edith and I wouldn't be too bored while the guys fished.

It was the perfect place because the minute the line hit the water, he had a bite! We only stayed for about 30 minutes total, but he caught 8 fish. He enjoyed it and left wanting more.

 After fishing we went out for ice cream.  On Sundays we have been visiting a different ice cream parlor each week.  This is the first week that we have let Edith actually taste some ice cream.  It's not shocking that she loves it!  Eddie picked the flavor (they shared a scoop), which was cotton candy.  It was a brightly blue colored ice cream with sprinkles in it - what's not to love?!
